With the objective focused on the improvement of planning models for the non-serial furniture-manufacturing environment, the PLANIA project reaches its final phase through the implementation of specific software for the monitoring and control of production.
The productive sector of furniture manufacturing brings together numerous stages throughout its production phase. The variety of references and diversity of product to be manufactured by furniture companies generates an intralogistic framework that requires high coordination. In this regard, the standard tools for production control and planning do not respond to the demand that the flexible structures of the furniture industry demand.
For this reason, throughout the PLANIA project, machine reading and connectivity devices have been developed that are capable of feeding information systems for the control of production and the monitoring of manufacturing orders. Through the storage and processing of the captured production data, the developed software allows the interpretation and calculation of production times with which to feed simulations of the planning environment. In this way, the project has allowed to give an organized response to the complex flow of operations of the sector, assisted by the connectivity of the productive environment in real time.
Through the PLANIA project, an effective tool for resource planning and allocation has been developed. Benefited by a system capable of load simulation and process flow optimization, enabling the competitiveness of companies through operational excellence and facilitating the exploration of complex systems developed through Industry 4.0 enabling tools.
The project has had the participation of the technological companies NEXO INGENIERÍA and MIRMIT, as well as the furniture manufacturer MOBENIA and the technological centers AMBIT (Living Spaces Cluster) and AMUEBLA (Innovative Business Grouping of Furniture Manufacturers and Related of the Region of Murcia) within the framework of the AEI-010500-2022b-236 project financed by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism.
